Cubs and '78s - Part VI

Awhile back I sent dayf, the Cardboard Junkie, a stack of my 1978 Topps repeats to help him out with his want list.  Yesterday a package arrived that contained a couple dozen Cubs and nice stack of '78s that I need for my set!

Here's my favorite '78, a Terry Puhl rookie card in one of those awesome Astros uniforms.
Next up, easily the two most recognizable names in the package: Bobby Bonds and Tommy John. Yes, that's the same Tommy John that now has an arm surgery process named for him.
After dayf's fifteen card contribution, I now have 546 out of the 726 cards, good for 75.2%.  Hey, I'm three-fourths of the way home!  Thanks, Mr. Cardboard Junkie!

Here are the best two Cubs cards from the lot.  A 2004 Authentix Kerry Wood and an '88 Woolworth Dawson, which celebrates his MVP season from 1987 on the back of the card.
A couple of days ago Kerry Wood tweeted the following with the below picture attached:
Wood hash-tagged "statefarm" which makes me think about the All-Star game home run derby, because they are the sponsors.  The home run derby is only for active players though.  I thought Dawson might be playing in the the celebrity and legends softball game, but it's sponsored by Taco Bell.  Color me confused, but I'm pretty certain Dawson will be in Kansas City.  Kansas City, is this year's host for the All-Star Game, isn't too far a drive for me.  Yet, I don't have tickets, and what's even more problematic is the All-Star Game is the same date as someone's wedding anniversary.  Yeah, as much as I'd love to see The Hawk in action again, it's not going to happen.

Speaking of baseball events that I'd love to see in person: the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is July 22nd this year in Cooperstown.  I've been to Cooperstown twice, and I will go back, but not this summer.  Why do I bring this up?  Well dayf has fashioned himself into a pretty good artist and he has the habit of slipping in sketch cards of players into his card packages.  I'm saving the newest sketch card until my July 22nd post.  Here's the last one he sketched for me, Starlin Castro as a pony:
